Friends' Newsletter for the University of Bristol Botanic Garden: Winter Issue 2014

I have recently completed the Winter issue of the Friends' Newsletter for the University of Bristol Botanic Garden. This is an A5, 32 page, quarterly publication regularly produced by myself. This latest issue contains a central spread to promote their 40th Anniversary Concert on Saturday 21 March next year. The Bristol University Singers with The Bristol University will be performing a mixed programme of light and classical music. Taking place at the Victoria Rooms, Clifton; the event is very reasonably priced at £8 and comes highly recommended.

For tickets see www.bristol.ac.uk/botanic-garden/events

Below is the cover and central spread from the latest issue.

Manna: Autumn 2014 Issue

I've recently completed work on the Autumn 2014 issue of Manna magazine, this is now available to view online. Manna is a quarterly, 24 page publication designed by Graphic Bubble for The Diocese of Bath & Wells.

The Autumn issue focuses on healing and asks, ‘what does it really mean to be healed?’. The lead column by Trevor Dean reflects on prayer for healing in the context of his GP work in a deprived area of South Bristol. In the interview, Gilly Bunce, shares her experience of healing: simple steps forward in personal growth being perhaps more realistic than dramatic miracles. In another interview, the Right Revd Peter Maurice, Bishop of Taunton shares his personal experience of healing and why he believes the church needs healing at its heart.

John Foskett shares his unexpected reaction to facing illness in My Faith, and Sue Yabsley shows us the importance of self care for our clergy who she supports in her role each day. And what was the purpose of the healing miracles? Did they really happen? Revd Matt Thomson explains why he is convinced they did in Soul Food.
