Manna: Winter 2016 Issue

I have recently completed work on the Winter issue of Manna magazine for the Diocese of Bath & Wells. Manna is an A4 quarterly, 24 page publication designed by Graphic Bubble.

Here are the thoughts of the new Editor Sam Ford about the latest issue; “As the new editor of this magazine I’m excited that the ideas and the magazine itself can be passed on to others. I’m convinced that the teachings of Christ Jesus and the commitment of the Church to worshipping God and serving society are as starkly important now as ever. If we don’t engage in this way then there are serious questions about relevance. That’s not to try to say that this magazine is the single way to do that but it’s intended to help and, I think, it does. The articles in this issue carry a range of views and experiences. They elucidate much of the debate but leave us with questions, as should be expected of these complicated subjects.

“I would also like to welcome Bishop Ruth on behalf of Manna readers to her role as Chair of the editorial panel. You can find news of her in these pages and you will hear more from her in the April edition.

“Thanks to the previous editor Helen Hawthorne – who, I’m delighted to say, continues as feature writer – and to all who’ve contributed to this edition. And thanks to those parishes who got in touch to tell us about what’s going on in their areas. Let’s encourage each other in what we do.

“The front cover, by the way, is a fractal: a mathematical pattern which endlessly self-repeats, expressing infinity.”
